Challenger Way (10th St East) and Avenue L   Lancaster, California

Not a speed trap, but a ticket trap. On Challenger Way going south, the right lane merges onto Avenue L at the signal. Some people stop at a red light, but most just merge, as Avenue L going west is a single lane until it crosses Challenger Way. Officers are writing tickets to those that don't stop for the red light, but the signage leads you to believe it is a merge lane and does not require you to stop. The people that stop get honked at by those behind them, it is an accident waiting to happen, plus the tickets are very expensive for running a red light.
