West Hempfield, Pennsylvania Speed Traps

When exiting 283 E at the Salunga exit and going towards W. Hempfield twp. (right) the speed limit drops immediately from 65 to 45. The police sit off to the right behind some trees approximately 1/3 mile from the exit ramp. They can be found here at any time of the day or night. They really like to sit there late in the night, when it’s too dark to see them. There aren’t any lights on this road. This is a two lane road with moderate traffice.

A township police car or state trooper usually sit at the top of the westbound Rt 30 on ramp or park in the emergency lane on the Stony Battery Road bridge looking over the highway.
