Livermore, California Speed Traps
East Las positas rd. Between vasco and greenville
Speed limit on las positas before vasco is 45. Goes down to a single lane 35mph after & then about 1/4 mile before you hit greenville, you get 2 lanes again but still 35. However, turning onto greenville, speed jumps back up to 50mph. Cops like to hide after the 2 lane opening. The road is wide enough for 2 lanes each side. Seems logical.
Hwy 84 and Ruby Hill
Going E on 84 as you go down a hill into Livermore the speed changes from 55 to 50. The police just sit on Kalthoff Comm and wait for someone coming down the hill. Its either the Livermore Police, The Alameda Sheriffs or the CHP so they’re around quite often.
State Highway 84 (Vallecitos Road) Over Pigeon Pass Road
Both the CHP and the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office use Pigeon Pass to look for speeders.
ACSO uses both Police Cruisers and Motorcyle Officers to catch speeders from Livermore.
CHP uses the entrance to the old road on the western side of Pigeon Pass to position a cruiser with a Speed Gun at the bottom of the hill going toward I-680.
Old Groth Bros. Dealership Off L Street
Livermore PD use the parking lot behind the buildings that face “L” Street between First and Railroad to catch speeders.
Bank Of America Branch At 1748 Railroad Avenue
Motorcycle Officers position themselves under the shade of the portico facing Railroad Avenue between “L” Street and “P” Street.
On weekends, it is not uncommon to see a Livermore Police Cruiser in the parking lot with a speed gun.
