Katella Ave between Los Alamitos Blvd and Valley View Los Alamitos, California

This stretch of Katella is three lanes in either direction, no real pedestrain traffic and speed is posted at 35 MPH after dropping from 45 MPH west of Katella and east of Valley View. Based on the flow of traffic and width of street, this speed is unlogically slow, compared to similar arterials in the area. I have been stopped twice and ticketed by an over zealous "volunteer " officer, who hides in the Los Alamitos Motel with a lasar gun. His only duty is to write tickets. This area is his hunting ground so beware of this Barney Fife, especially during evening rush hour. If you decide to fight it in court, HE WILL show up with all his homework complete.

Between 7:30 and 8am Monday thru friday. traveling north on los alamitos blvd toward cerritos. usually 2 to 3 patrol czars are hidding in between the photo gallery and the pool supply store in the parking lot facing the street.
