Narragansett, Rhode Island Speed Traps
Rt. 1A, south of Black Pt, north of Scarborough
As you are heading South on scenic Rt. 1A and you pass Black Point Fishing area, be sure to come down to 30mph, (the speed limit is an unreasonable 25mph). There is usually a gansett cop (or two) waiting on a dirt patch (probably made for the sole reason of catching speeders), just North of Scarborough state beach. They are generally waiting during the morning and evening commutes. Like all patrol cars in gansett, they are always monitoring the road with their k/ka band radars. This road is very curvy, leaving you very little time to react to a cop.
Old Boston Neck Road near US Highway 138
This is an old country road. Because it has University of RI campus at the end of it off of South Ferry rd. People tend to speed. The police are hiding in the trees in the small dirt roads it provides. The speed limit is 25 and it is easy to speed, but don’t! You have been warned!
108 Street near Just after Narrgansett Rotary
Rt. 108 is completely patrolled by both Narragansett and South Kingstown scrubs. Avoid speeding in front of Mariner Square Plaza, and avoid any speed above 50 when the limit mercifully changes to 45. (But don’t forget that when youre heading in the reverse direction.)
Rt 108
Because of the high population of (partying) college kids, and the constantly changing speed limit, the cops have a field day on this road which connects the beaches to Wakefield and Kingston. They hide in the dark.
