Officer hides on a curve just inside town limits

Eutawville, South CarolinaJul 01, 20190 Comments

Officer hides in a curve, just inside town limits, at the 35 mph sign. The area is wooded on both sides of S.C. Highway 6. He hides there after dark with lights off, as well as in the daytime. The actual town that he is supposed to be protecting is not even in sight of this area.

Local (town of Eutawville) police parks along side Hwy. 6, or off on a side road, observing Hwy. 6 as motorists exit Eutawville going toward Santee, SC, or as they enter Eutawville, from Santee/Vance, SC. The speed limit drops to 35 as you come into Eutawville (from Santee) and you can not see the patrol car as there is a curve. Also, be careful throughout the town of Eutawville. Speed limits are 35 or 25, and are very strictly enforced.

entire town

The entire town is a speed trap – they have multiple hiding places and the revenue is likely town’s entire budjet. Nice officers, but they aren’t likely to issue warnings. If you get a ticket, GO TO COURT. A 50% decrease in both points and fine are the norm.
