The cut through from #9 to US 21.They sit in the curve at Tackle Shop and also have license checks there. Always cruising this 2 to 3 mile stretch.

Fort Lawn is located at the intersection of SC9 and US21 just about 5-miles east of Lancaster s.c. The speed limit coming into Fort Lawn is 55mph then it drops to 35mph in the city with out any transition period. In all fairness the 35mph sign is the biggest speed limit sign I have ever seen. Don,t miss it though are you will pay. I got stopped for going 14 miles over the speed limit and got a ticket for careless driving and a fine of 207.00 The judge was resonable when I came to court. The fine was reduced. I disagree but then I agree. I just hate the insurance company. I agree with enforcing the speed limit. I have two friends killed in accidents where speed was the contributing factor. One of these pesrons was my neighbor.

Fort Lawn SC is one of those small South Carolina towns who’s only reason for having a police dept. is to bring in lots of revenue. This is a 2 man dept. that also includes approx 3-4 reserve officers. The chief has stolen by way of the county council, an extra three miles to plunder mainly out-of-towners. The officers will give you a city ordinance ticket for "Unsafe Operation Of A Vehicle", this will cost you no points on your license, but will cost you up to $600.00. Aword of advice OBSERVE the speed limit I was ticketed for 6 mph over the speed limit, even SC highway patrol gives you 10-15 mph. I was ticketed inside the city limits but if you get a ticket outside the city limits but inside of 3 miles, get a lawyer to beat the ticket then sue the dept. and the city for false arrest, don’t let these guys bully you.
