Myself and quite a few other people I know, have gotten pulled over right where Hwy 1 meets the 156. This is indeed a speed trap...........

US Highway 1 near Exit Number 12th Street   Marina, California

During tourist events in Monterey, as many as 6 to 8 motorcycle cops are on the overpass at 12th Street with radar going both ways and cops ready to ticket the unknowing tourists. They also hide between the north & southbound sections in a grove down around the next 2 exits going south. (I'm a local)

Reservation Road near entire stretch going into Salinas/Monterey   Marina, California

Reservation Road leads to many of the event parking for Laguna Seca Raceways and the Marina PD is filling their coffers with ticket money especially during Moto-cross. They are gunning for tourists and many have event parking in parts of old Fort Ord. The speed limit going west drops quickly so watch your speed or pay the piper!

US Highway Highway 1 near The 12th street exit bridge Street   Marina, California

The pig sits up on the 12th street exit bridge on his motorcycle. He is very hard to see until its too late. If your going north on highway 1 then you need to look for him up on the bridge as you come around the bend right before the exit. If your heading south then you need to look for him as soon as you pass the last on ramp from Marina.
