The speed limit rapidly drops from 55 to 45 to 30 as you enter the small town. Officer sits in an unmarked black car hidden behind the bushes of the church parking lot. They catch you just as soon as the speed limit drops to 30 while you’re trying to slow down.

Leaving town on either side, don’t speed up until you’ve passed the 45mph or 55mph sign. Many people I work with commute through Springfield and their M.O. is to get you speeding up leaving town. One girl that works with me is down to 2 points mostly because of this trap.

Police position themselves at the edges of this tiny town (1.6 Sq. Mi, 500 residents) and catch drivers coming from rural 55 MPH posted roads into "town", where the speed suddenly drops to 30 MPH. Their prime locations are the Flea Market and the Produce Stands located on either side of the town. They issue hundreds of $200 tickets a week. I calculated this hamlet is clearing a half a million bucks a year off of unsuspecting motorists!
