Livingston, Tennessee Speed Traps
Just past Livington on Hwy 111 right past the Rock Quarry
Just as you go through Livingston on the way towards Byrdstown, they like to sit on the grassy patch to the left of the hwy. They are hard to see if you aren’t looking. Course, I just set my cruise control to the speed limit so I don’t worry too much about tickets, but if you do, this is a definite trap.
Highway 111
One of the most flagrant abuses I have ever seen. We were on the way to visit the Sgt. York historic site. We were in a line of traffic traveling at a normal speed when a state police coming from the other direction makes a U-turn and pulls us over (since we are the last car in the line). Had to drive all the way back from Nashville to attend traffic school. Had to pay in cash….no receipt. The class lasted about 30 minutes. As if it were to make everyone feel better, the instructor tells everyone that the money is going for a good cause…the city library. Corruption at its worse. As much as I hate to advise anyone to avoid Sgt. Yorks homeplace…do so only if you are prepared to Pay.
Main St. right across from Winningham Hardware
They sit in a parking lot behind a building.
State Highway 52 North near High School & Pond on Right
If you are going North on Hwy. 52 there isn’t a speed limit sign except for the school zone sign that has 30 m.p.h when flashing, but if you’re coming South on 52 there is a sign on the ground that says 30 m.p.h. They trap you because most people think it is only 30 when flashing.
Overton county hwy 111 and hwy 52 from co line to co line
In this county state police (Hwy Patrol), Sheriff Deputies, and City police all have radar and use them often. They run often hwy 111 and hwy 52 from county line to county line. Sitting in hide away places and stretches. These guys will write tickets all day every day. Watch those speed limit signs. Big trucks also!
