McArthur St, south of Hwy 41, between the County office complex and the high school, is monitored almost daily. A radar unit is usually in a parking lot near the funeral home.

Ragsdale Road near New Bushy Branch Road

The speed limit decreases quickly as you enter Manchester on Ragsdale Road. In my instance, two of us were pulled over, and the officer agreed both of us were speeding, and the vehicle behind me was also following too closely.

The officer allowed the local person (who was speeding and following too closely) to drive away without even discussing the infraction with them. He ticketed me for speeding. This officer was very rude, and although admitting the other vehicle could have been ticketed for two infractions, he decided to give me the only ticket. I could only attribute this to me being from out of state.

A call to the police headquarters in Manchester was answered very rudely, and despite two seperate requests for the police chief to return my call, it was never returned.

The actions of the officer, the clerk who answers the phone at the po-po department, and the apathy of the chief make me believe this town has a keystone cop department. "Speed Trap" definitely describes this

Speed changes from 45 to 30, 5 to 6 cop cars waiting for you. Your speed is taken right at the sign where it changes from 45 to 30. There is no time to react or even slow down. No "speed zone ahead" or "reduced speed ahead" signs.
