State Highway 211

Newbern, TennesseeFeb 05, 20080 Comments

On 211 after passing the Dyer Co. High School going towards Dyersburg, there is often a police car parked off the road, backed onto a gravel lane. The speed limit is posted as 45 just before the school and doesn’t change to 55 for over a mile. After topping the hill, people tend to pick up speed and that police car is waiting right there for them.

Hwy 211 South just inside city limits

Newbern, TennesseeJan 01, 20020 Comments

Folks living in the town and in the county who drive on this road knows that the city limits are extended way out to the south edge of the city, away from regular businesses. Driving over the speed limit of 45mph attract the local police, some county deputies have been known to follow drivers into the city limits as well. Most police cruisers are hidden in the driveway entrances of local farms and backed up in other brushed-up driveways. Cruisers travel the road most frequently throughout the day, the SR-211 highway being the main connector of business between Newbern and Dyersburg.
