Hwy 317 Apison Pike.

Ooltewah, TennesseeMar 21, 20130 Comments

Headed East on Hwy 317 /Apison Pike (VW exit) just past Pattentown Road the speed limit changes from 40mph to 35mph as you descend down a mile long downgrade. The police set up on the right side of Apison Pike about midway down the hill and 200 yards farther at the entrance to the Stratford Place subdivision. It is almost impossible to slow down because of the steep downgrade. It has become a revenue producer and is keeping people from traveling and visiting the area. Not good for the local businesses.

Anywhere in the burg of Collegedale

The Over-staffed Collegedale Police Department aka "The Terminators" will stop anyone for nearly anything. Nearly everyone of them holds some sort of rank and most of them resemble a Nazi SS officer more than a police officer. It seems the City of Collegedale provides for itself from the revenue of those who drive through its boundaries. My 16 year old son was stopped one evening for who knows what since he received no citation, but he was pushed around, his car was torn apart and damaged (which upon registering a complaint was denied) and scared so badly he wet himself. He came home a nervous wreck and to this day refuses to drive through Collegedale. Was he guilty of any offense? No. There was nothing illegal or out of place and he did nothing wrong with his driving. I wonder if a 65 year old Adventist Lady would have been treated the same. The motto on their patrol cars reads "To Protect with Respect". Those who know see the joke in that.

The cops will sit behind the signs on the 2 industrial buildings after Ooltewah High School. They have given out 400+ tickets over the last year. The speed limit is 45, but it is safe to go 70+.

They have 2 places that they hide and get you… I have a police scanner and hear them giving tickets all the time. Also on Ooltewah-Ringgold Rd. The speed limit is 50-55 in Ga. just as soon as you go into Tn the limit drops to 35-40 and they sit on this road often and give out tickets.
