The speed limit goes from 70 to 55 to 40 mph as your enter Buffalo Gap from the north. The officer will sit across from “The Cafe” once you enter the 40mph zone. I drive through there during the day a lot. It’s a gamble if he is there or not. But if he is he will get you before you know he is there.

There is a cop there at night alot of times with his lights off just waiting for you to run the light or be speeding. The cops tend to be on grape street alot between N. 4th and N. 18th during the day.

Sayles Blvd is a heavy traffic street with divided traffic lanes through a residential area. Traffic is heavy during business hours and weekends. Traffic enforcement is increasing after the death of motor officer on Sayles Blvd in a chase. Road rage incident generated ramming of vehicles and shooting resulting in fatality.

Between the S.14th Exit and Lawrence Hall Chevy/Hartford St.

Abilene, TexasMar 24, 20101 Comments

The APD likes to sit in the Lawrence Hall parking lot during hours that the lot is closed and radar down the service road and up on 83/84. If the lot is open sometimes they will sit in the 7-11 parking lot. They get a lot of folks on the service road that just took the S14th exit because is goes from 60 to 45. They also caught my husband up on 83/84 this same way. He was already past the dealership on the highway and the APD clocked him from the car lot and chased him down to give him a ticket. Very sneaky.

S 27th St. between S.Willis and Buffalo Gap Road

Abilene PD work this area alot due to the high volume of traffic on S. 27th. They will park on side streets and use alleyways between business to shoot radar. I’ve seen them many times.
