Northbound 75 Service Road Between Legacy and Ridgemont Dr.   Allen, Texas

Speed limit is 50 on this stretch, and the traffic narrows to one lane as you approach Ridgemont Drive. Lots of people speeding up to manage the merge if they are in the left lane. Allen PD sit tucked back in to a commercial building parking lot driveway, which is VERY well shielded from view by a rise in the landscape at that entry. They are really good at hiding there--you WILL get nailed and won't have time to hit the brakes. I have seen both motorcycle and unmarked car working this location. Unmarked car was a black charger. Pay particular attention to your speed on this stretch.

Lowery School Zone - Southbound Greenville/Main St.   Allen, Texas

Police will set up and radar in the mornings during school speed zone times at the Lowery Freshman Center just past Allen HS going south on Greenville. One cop on Northbound side directs bus traffic and another cop (usually hiding behind the Aaron's Furniture truck) catches people going southbound. PRICEY ticket as it is in an active school zone. GO 20 MPH or get caught!

East of 75 between the East service road and Greenville Ave.   Allen, Texas

I received a ticket for Laser gun speed of 51 in a 40mph zone. This area used to be 45 but since the new Walmart went in they dropped it to 40. The Allen traffic cop sets in the motel parking lot entrance and clocks traffic going both East and West. This is a very expensive ticket @ $205.00.

75 North just before Stacy   Allen, Texas

A cop will be standing on the right side of his vehicle by the hood with radar gun. Partner is in the car presumably verifying speeding vehicle and plate #. While they do stand out in the open, I have twice seen a car slam on the brakes while swerving nearly running into adjacent cars in the process because the driver was startled by a cop pointing "something" at them looking down the sights. How this saves lives, I don't know. Beat these clowns by staying in the middle lane pacing the flock. Pull out in front or linger in the back and you're toast.

W. McDermott Dr. between Watters Rd. and S. Alma Dr.   Allen, Texas

Leaving Lowes last Saturday I turned from Benton onto McDermott and steadily accelerated to the Posted 45mph that I saw up top the hill. I even saw the cop, but low and behold she popped her lights on and......what do you know, I have a speeding ticket. I asked her what my speed was ( I already knew but thought she'd realize it's only slightly above the limit) and she said 51. So I was 6 mph over, could you cut me a break. No, it's 40mph which is posted Down the hill. I clearly saw the 45mph sign and wondered what the law is. Can you go that speed when you see the sign or right when you pass the sign? I feel railroaded.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
