Globe Avenue near Blue Mound Road   Blue Mound, Texas

Speed signs are not kept up well and can be somewhat obstructed by tree limbs. One side is commercial and the other residential and feeds from one main road (McLeroy) into another main road (Western Center). I was ticketed and not warned going 31 (presuming it to be thirty) in a twenty. A relative not familiar to this area got ticketed for going 33. Assumed possible speed trap due to signs not kept up well in a vertical position for several months.

Watauga Smithfield Rd. near Western Center and Blue Mound   Blue Mound, Texas

Radared going 31 in 20 zone. This is a residential area with no school zone. There is a church near the street but who cares on a Friday! Plus, churches don't usually get special treatment like that. Residential is normally 25 I thought. I was on my way to lunch when I was stopped. When I left (the same route), the officer was giving some other poor sap a ticket in the same spot. A friend of mine got a ticket for 33 in 20 at the same spot a few weeks ago(different officer). Blue Mound population is 2500. I bet they generate nearly 20% revenue from traffic violations. See the TX state law: http://www.speedtrap.org/stetlaws.htm#Texas%20Law It's short and sweet. I'm convinced this is a speed trap.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
