In the lazy downtown area the speed rapidly drops.

N. Commerce St.

In July 2015, I was stopped for allegedly doing 46 mph in a 30 on Commerce St. I asked the officer if he had the correct vehicle. He then stated that I was the only car in the area when caught me on radar. His response was so untrue, because there was a car behind me prior to being stopped. I had no tickets since 1988, and he cared nothing of that.

4 members of the same family, 2 which are over 50 years of age (very detailed safe drivers) have received the EXACT same ticket on Commerce street @ Collins all during morning times. All 4 tickets issued were 41 in a 30. In about a 4 months span, NOT together, NOT even in same months… and we live 150 miles away. What are the odds? I wish we as good citizens could do something about this speed trap. I’m frustrated and feel there is nothing GOOD people can do. Shame on you Bremond. We will NEVER travel through your town again for any reason. People have choices on routes. I’m done and I’m posting on facebook as well.

Going through town, and was doing 30mph well in advance of this intersection where the cop always sits. He was under the tree playing on his phone when I passed by. Zipped in behind me and gave me the blue light special for 41-30. Not sure how he could have been paying attention to the radar AND be face deep in his phone. Smug younger officer. Definately avoid this town at all costs.

The cop had his car parked under a tree facing northbound. I was headed southbound on tx 14. I saw him well in advance and I was going 40 in a fort-five, but I slowed down a little for good measure. When I got to him he turned on his lights and did a u-turn. I immediately (within 15-20 feet of his car once he turned his lights on) got off to the shoulder. He accused me of going 40 in a thirty. He wrote me a ticket as if he was made of clockwork. These small towns need money to support their unnecessarily large police force and government. The cops have nothing worthwhile to do except collect ‘road tax’
