Burleson, Texas Speed Traps
Alsbury and 35 Southbound.
Unmarked police vehicle sitting in the median tracking people going southbound. I see him all the time but he got me this time after his police buddies in Fort Worth had a lane closed down with a police cruiser blocking traffic for 10 minutes during morning rush hour. Don’t expect compassion either when I explained why I was late and that I had to open, he did not care, made me 5 more minutes late and then drove off in his 100k unmarked police vehicle. But, hey I guess it’s easier than patrolling schools or neighborhoods. Also be careful when you see these guys; I have seen them pull out in front of vehicles to pursue chase. They get very excited, but that’s what a gun and a badge do to a person.
Hwy 174 and I35W
When approaching the I35W overpass on Hwy174, a motorcycle cop will sit at the top of the overpass, or just on the other side at the I35W southbound on ramp. Speed limit is 40, but traffic is normally going 50.
174/SW Wilshire Center turn lane
Cops just set in the center turn lane, day and night with their lights off !!! Thats just dangerous!!! Most common places are in front of MCMC auto sales/first state bank and Elk Plaza. posted March 2011
Alsbury east bound from John Jones FM 731
Speed both north bound and south bound on John Jones FM 731 is 50 MPH turning East on Alsbury no houses and no speed limit signs for 1/2 mile ..BUT limit is 40 MPH and just about the time you get stopped by the local police you have came around a bend in the road and wala.. there is the 40 MPH sign… Several juries have argued about it and have had split decisions, but to the city of Burleson it is a cash cow if they don’t put up a 40 MPH sign closer to the intersection.
Frontage Road near Interstate 35W Northbound
New exit ramp where I-35 dumps on to Northbound frontage road. BPD sits behind a tree clocking frontage road travelers as well as people exiting ramp.
