Northbound I-45, Centerville + 7 miles north   Centerville, Texas

The northbound interstate I-45 between Centerville and Buffalo (Leon County), is straights and/or flats and has no exit ramps for nearly 15 miles. The spot is Centerville + 7 miles north. Landmark is Keechi Creek + 3.3 miles north. Look for the needles eye bridge where County Road 304 / Co Rd 314 bridge goes over I-45. The patrol car is inside the needles eye, behind the center bridge pilar, and also protected by said pilar. The line of sight from bridge pilar looking at northbound cars is 3/4 mile or more. From Co Rd 304 / Co Rd 314 bridge, drive 7 miles north to reach hwy 79 / Buffalo.

Near Intersection of Route 7 with I-45   Centerville, Texas

March 10-13, 2002. Just south of the intersection of Rt 7 with I-45 mear Centerville, a DPS trooper parks with radar & laser off. To sounthbound traffic he is a surprise around the curve, to northbound traffic he is a surprise coming over a hill. He then radios other cars north and south, who come in from behind the speeders, waits for them to speed up again, and radars them for the ticket. The stalking aspet is what makes this trap radar-detector proof; my actual ticket was 30 miles away from the spotter car. Before seeing the spotter car, the only radar & laser emissions were low strength and from the rear; during the stalking phase there were no measureable emissions.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
