FM1488 Between Jones Rd. and I-45

Conroe, TexasJun 09, 20120 Comments

The East and West bound lanes of FM1488 from I-45 entering East to Jones Rd. (Conroe City Limits) are vigorously worked by Texas DPS, Montgomery County S.O. & Conroe P.D.
Both stationary and mobile methods are employed. They will post in the center turn lane, on side streets, along the improved shoulders and in driveways. These agencies operate cars, SUV’s, pickups and motorcycles.
This has proven to be a rather dangerous section of roadway due to LOTS of wildlife activity (deer) along both sides and crossing the road and motorists traveling way too fast and many other driver distractions.
The posted speed limit is 55 M.P.H. I suggest staying near, if not, within the posted limit. It’s only a three mile section of roadway. Stay safe.

FM 105, 7 miles west of I 45

Conroe, TexasJul 02, 20100 Comments

State Trooper sit just out side of the Conroe City limits and set up radar traps east and west bound. They hide just over a ridge out of sight from on coming traffic and they often use radar guns rather than the conventional constant on radar that will set off a radar detector a 1/2 mile away. Recently the speed limit was reduced from 60 to 55 MPH.

A MCSO deputy is sitting with a radar to clock those exiting I-45 at 242/Needham Rd. (if you are heading South on I-45).
