FM-67/Gathings Ave.   Covington, Texas

He will get you going into town or coming out of town. Going out of town is a hill so you will automatically pick up speed. Going into town is hard to make the climb of the hill without giving a little gas . ( Impossible situation ) He always says you are speeding 10 miles over, whether you are or are not .

State Highway 171 near FM 2719   Covington, Texas

Local officer stations his vehicle by highway speed sign just outside town (open country area) and if you resume speed when you see the sign instead of after you pass the sign; he "flashes"" his radar and gives you a ticket for at least 10 mph over speed limit whether your doing that or not. "

State Highway 171 near FM 67   Covington, Texas

The stretch of road on 171 in Covington, Tx city limits. Speed limit is 60 which is slower than most people drive it. The city police always have someone pulled over. Also on Fm 67(the crossing road) they will get you as well in the city limits. Leaving the city going west the speed limit is 30 , then 45 but you have to watch that spot coming into town from the westerly direction. If you don't slow down to 30 they will pull you over.

Hwy 171 Hill County South of Johnson County Line   Covington, Texas

Covington is just South of the johnson county line in Hill County. The City has just started a police dept and it is rapidly becoming a speed trap. When its own residents place a sign calling it a speed trap how do people passing through from Hillsboro to Cleburne take This? The officers are young and continually patrol out of their city limits. They harass the citizens with their Barney Fife mentalitity so be aware of the speed limit signs in Covington. Passers through enter at their own risk.
