U. S. Hwy 84 heading east out of Elba   Elba, Alabama

After you cross the Pea River bridge the road adds a passing lane which continues up the hill then returns to a 2-lane. The speed limit up this hill is 35mph. Most people will stay in the left lane and not move over. City cops sit at the top of the hill and double-pop you a) for speeding and b) for passing on the right side. The ticket starts at $179.00

State Route 27 near State Route 27/West into town of Elba   Elba, Alabama

Signs not visibly posted cop came out of nowhere, singled out for out of state tags. Was not speeding but paid ticket anyway. Source of revenue for town.....
