Chapin Street (Between I-69 exit to Jackson Road)

Edinburg, TexasJan 11, 20190 Comments

The speed limit is unrealistically low for this road, set at 30mph. The traffic usually flows on this road at 35-40mph. Edinburg PD police cars are frequently traveling this road, looking for anyone exceeding the speed limit. They usually just issue warnings, only doing stops for “community contact” purposes.

Usually on Thursdays through Mondays you’ll find a lot of State Troopers parked along Hwy 281 as you leave the Edinburg City limits. It’s like that for at least 15 to 20 miles north of town. It tappers off once you cross into Brooks County. It gets so bad at times, you’ll find 3 troopers parked around certain bends of the highway within a 1 mile area of the highway.
