US Highway 175   Eustace, Texas

High enforcement area on U.S. 175 in and around Eustace. The entire area in question covers Henderson County Precinct 3, from about halfway between Athens and Eustace to the Kaufman County Line (you can tell when you enter Precinct 3 because the county road numbers go from the 2000s to the 3000s). The Eustace PD, along with a State Trooper who patrols the area, are out looking for suckers constantly. The trooper in particular isn't afraid to falsify your alleged speed to write you up. Don't even think about going 1 mph over the limit through here.

US Highway 175 near FM 316   Eustace, Texas

The Texas Department of Public transportation has a two year highway construction project in progress on US-175. The small town of Eustace is funding itself by hiring extra officers to write speeding tickets, some as low as one mph over the limit. Even the local Texas State Troopers think the Eustace speed trap is feather-legged and do not enforce the speed law until violations of at least 10 mph over the limit.

State Highway 175   Eustace, Texas

Eustace is the epitomy of a speedtrap and a glaring embarrassment to legitimit law enforcement. If you are traveling southeast towards Athens the speedlimit drops from 65 MPH to 55 MPH about a mile before you enter the city. Then it drops 50, 45, 40 within about 1/2 a mile. Just in case you make it that far. This "city"" of slightly over 800 people has two two full time officers on duty 24/7. One is usually posted on each end of the 3.5 miles of Hwy 175 that passes through the town. Forget about warnings. That word is not in their vocabulary. I know of many instances where citations have been written for 2 or 3 miles and hour over the limit. "

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
