Highway 195 (Patterson Ave.)   Florence, Texas

Police will sit across from the Mexican food resturant and run radar in both directions. They will stop you for no front license plate and no license plate light. They only wrote me a warning. The cops tend to be a little hardnosed, but they seem to be fair. They run radar heavily in the school zones and have 0 tolerance.

State Highway 195   Florence, Texas

Tickets are the main revenue for this town of <1000 residents. Their favorite trick is to catch you about ten feet from the city limits as you are leaving town. (This way they know you are not a resident and are fairgame) Accelerate a little too soon and they chase you out on to the highway.

HWY 195   Florence, Texas

In this very small town the speed limit drops from 70MPH to 45MPH and is strictly enforced. The main cause of this is that THE police officer is searching for DWI's going from Austin to Fort Hood. This is also the most Lethal road in Texas. Best Bet is to take 190 instead of 195, and make it from Austin to Killeen alive and with no tickets.
