Northeast bound, just outside of Franklin, Texas

Constable for Robertson County laying in wait outside of town unseen. Keep your speed down and consider rolling video while passing through. After being pulled over, the constable outright lied to our faces (and then accused us of lying) about our speed.

Interestingly, the speed he quoted just *happened* to be the exact amount for a higher ticket amount.

I understand Robertson County needs to make money, and I will happily accept my fine if I’m speeding. But to be outwardly accusatory about a motorist lying and lie themselves is just deplorable.

I’d encourage everyone to be vigilant through Robertson County, and consider withholding fuel and goods purchases for another more honest County.

West of Franklin on Hwy 79 near True Value store

Going into Franklin the speed goes from 70 to 35 very quickly. I reduced speed as indicated. As I left going west, I increased speed accordingly. The last sign before 70 was 55. When I saw the 70 sign I increased speed. I was given a ticket for 67 in a 55. Even the officer pointed to the 70 sign saying you were almost there. Can’t tell me this is Not a speed trap!

Truckers beware! There is a black and white SUV that will randomly pull you over, "routine logbook check" or some other excuse. If he finds anything you get busted. Courthouse and JP is northwest from Dairy Queen. Young pretty girls, you might want to watch your speed and actions, seems the local and DPS both like to stop you.

School zone on the east side of the town – going East Hwy 71

Franklin, TexasApr 17, 20103 Comments

The school zone sign is blocked by several other signs and you can not see the sign until you are right on it! The sign before the school zone sign is posted at 45 and the next visible is posted at 55! I guess the people that live in this town know the trap and go the 35 mph. Also, you can not see the school (on the left) because a large building is blocking the view. Classic speed trap.
