North Entrance to DFW

Grapevine, TexasNov 29, 20150 Comments

Coming from 635 or 121 towards the north entrance of DFW, the speed limit drops from 65 to 50, then 1 mile later increases to 55, then in less than a mile, it drops to 40 before the toll gates at DFW. DFW police sit right under the overpass prior to the toll gates and nail people that haven’t slowed down from 55 to 40 soon enough. They will pull you over after you go through the booths and write you an expensive ticket. Depending on what part of the airport you are in, you will have to fight it in one of several different jurisdictions.

Ira Woods (service road along Bay hosp 114 exit to 1709)

Grapevine, TexasOct 21, 20150 Comments

Fertile ground for multiple motorcycle cops. They sit in parking lots etc along the service road and have double hunting grounds. Cars exiting off of 114 to 1709 are usually going over the limit and cars entering 114 West are speeding up to merge into the freeway access ramp. It’s a 4 lane road and you have cars that are coming off the freeway and cars speeding up to get on the freeway. Speed limit is 40 MPH. You get pulled over, you’re getting a ticket, no ifs ands or buts about it.

West 114 service road outside Baylor hospital

Grapevine, TexasNov 07, 20140 Comments

Officer sits outside Baylor hospital and pulls people over merging onto service road 114. The ramp is short so you need speed to safely merge onto service road. Had left the hospital after chemotherapy and cop didn’t even flinch. Wrote me a ticket anyways. I wonder if his next stop is to sit outside funeral homes and pull people over there.

North Park where it intersects with Dove

Grapevine, TexasMay 30, 20141 Comments

The speed trap is for South bound cars leaving the Dove Elementary School Zone. The police sit beyond the sign pointing out that it is a school zone on a side street that is just at the end of the zone. Kids don’t cross this major street and there is no crossing guard in place.
