I-35 E (North/South of Italy)   Italy, Texas

The city of Itay, Texas has annexed exactly One mile on I-35 E which they "milk" relentlessly. Fortunately construction is finished and there is greater visibility to the motorist to see patol units. They liken the Interstate to a slot machine, constantly pulling the "lever" (motorist) for the pay off. Write the Mayor. The City of Italy, Texas 101 West Main Street Box 840 Italy, Texas 76651 Attention: Mayor Frank Jackson

I-35 North, near Italy   Italy, Texas

Speed limit inexplicably drops to 65 mph here, with no warning and hard to see signage. Cops are relentless in pulling over, even if you are just "keeping up" with traffic. Must be Italy's sole source of revenue - don't be fooled by its "charming" name.

Interstate 35 South   Italy, Texas

This is a major construction area. I was traveling South on I35 and a Police Car passed me going 65 - 70 with no lights on. I followed a truck for several miles and when I saw an opening, I passed the truck reaching speed of 65. As soon as I passed the truck, I slowed down to 45. The cop was on the frontage road and was nice but wrote me a ticket. Stay away from this town. I now go out of my way to avoid Italy.

Interstate 35 North near Mile Marker 384   Italy, Texas

Officers wait in the construction zone, radar cars, and pull over on the northbound side of I35. The speed limit on the northbound side of the road is 55, but the speed on the southbound side is 65. This is the same exact location.

Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
