Hwy1886 getting on Hwy 199

Lakeside, TexasMar 05, 20190 Comments

There is a yield lane on 1886 turning right to get on 199. You have to get all the way over to left to get on 199. There is a cop sitting behind the shell station on the corner. If you come out of the yield lane and cross to the left you will get a ticket for “A too wide right turn”. Stupidest thing I ever heard. It’s a set up. They should not even have an on ramp there!

Confederate Parkway / FM 1886 / State Highway 199

Lakeside, TexasApr 16, 20180 Comments

45 MPH on FM 1886 inside Lakeside City Limits. Any speed over that will get you a ticket. High spot in front of Lakeside Church of God is perfect “blind spot” for police to hide. aka Police entrapment. Drivers must come to “Complete Stop” at intersection of FM 1886 & State Highway 199; if not, ticket is guaranteed. Recent change in City Limits places State Highway 199 “inside Lakeside City Limits”. Drivers are now getting tickets as fast as the one officer can give them out. This is funding the police department, has nothing to do with safety.

Baptist Church from 1886 getting onto 199

Lakeside, TexasMar 18, 20110 Comments

It doesn’t happen that often but I’ve seen it at least twice. The police sit in the church’s parking lot next to the north wall. You can’t see them until you are next to the parking lot. By then it’s too late.

Lakeside area on 1886 (Confederate Park) is heavily monitored from the stop signs at the four-way where it intersects with 199 (Jacksboro Hwy) all the way to the Citgo past winery.

State Highway 1886 near Silver Creek Road

Lakeside, TexasMar 24, 20080 Comments

Where Silver Creek intersects with 1886 (Confederate Park) in Lakeside. Often during rush times (a.m. and p.m.) patrol car sits on north side of the road facing the intersection and catches people speeding over the hill either way or anyone running the stop sign.
