Hwy 59 North leaving town.   Marshall, Texas

The speed trap below is correct but the speed limit goes from 45 to 55 as you pass Walmart. They are very watchful of this area. It stays 55 past the Light at the loop on the north for a couple of blocks. Then it goes to 70 day/65 night. Don't push it because they are vigilant.

US Highway 59 near US Highway 80   Marshall, Texas

Marshall just added 2 miles of camera monitored stop lights all along 59 between Walmart and I-20. I have seen many trucks get photo'd (you will see the flash even in daylight) as the speed limit and yellow duration doesn't give enough time to slow down. If the lights on Hwy59 go yellow stop but watch your mirrors. There have been many accidents from people slamming on their brakes and getting rearended.

Hwy 59 North - leaving town   Marshall, Texas

The speed limit is maintained at 45 long after you leave the built-up area of town. There are nothing but woods on both sides of the road so keeping the speed limit at 45 serves no 'public safty' need. The police (usually on a motorcycle)are waiting in the driveway of the last business on the west side of the road.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
