on US431, just past town   Eufaula, Alabama

you can't win going through Eufaula, got stopped for going 50mph on a 50mph zone. The reason; I did not move by one lane for a police car which was parked well on the grass, far from the rode with nobody outside. The trooper wouldn't even look me in the eye when he gave it to me. My wife asked me if I thought we would get a warning. NO WAY since this was an obvious trap. The sad thing is that we spent probably about $200 in Eufaula for food both ways: never again.

US 431   Eufaula, Alabama

We were on a return trip to Dothan and passing through Eufaula late night, 1:00 AM, March of this year. Saw 7 (seven) marked units, no telling how many un-marked, from the north side to south side, including city, county and State Troopers. Lots of cars pulled over. Got pulled over for flashing lights at oncoming traffic. My excuse, the person ahead of me had on brights, it was the cop that pulled me over. I guess it helps to have a Firefighter ID and tag.

N Eufaula Ave & US Hwy 82   Eufaula, Alabama

The main trap is where Southbound US431 passes US82. The speed limit drops down to 45MPH but the sign is obscured by trees. All of Eufaula is a trap. US431 is the biggest one since they can capture out of town travelers. Quoting the news paper ' 111 traffic arrests between Thursday and Monday mornings.' 111 divided by 4days=28 tickets per day @ 185.50 a pop=$20,591 for the 4 days take(Now I know how they can afford all the new cars and SUVs). I can't be the only one that sees this is about the money!

All of us431 in jurisdiction is a trap. To quote the paper '75 traffic arrests between Thursday and Monday'. This town does not mind giving out tickets like candy. Take another route to Flordia!
