Having a school zone on a road that the school isn’t even on and there are no sidewalks or anything alongside this road as well. Seems like it is a money grab by the city of Nolanville, TX .

Was drive the speed limit of 75mph and was stopped by NPD. The officer said I was doing 84mph in 75mph. I told her there was no way I was traveling that fast. I was upset because I knew I was not doing 84mph. She called back up and had the Chief show up. They ask me to get out of the car because I was contesting the speed. I did sign the ticket. if I had not signed it they were going to take me to jail. Nolanville is back to doing what they were doing in the mid 80’s of writing tickets and putting what ever thy wanted on the tickets of people that were not speeding. They were caught and it was stopped for a while. It looks like it is time to get the state and federal government back involved investigating them again. This time if/when caught the need to do away with there PD. File complaints with the state so action will be taken on this department again.

NPD will sit a car 5ft past the Harker Heights and Nolanville limits sign and watch for people speeding or rolling through the stop coming off of the bridge over hwy190. Then they’ll cite people for tickets over $200 and tell you they don’t know how much the fines are. Bottom line up front, stay away from this corrupt little town. You don’t actually have to run the stop sign for them to cite you, it’s a quick $207 for them and contesting it in court will cost you over $600.

Travelling West on Nolanville the speed in 40 mph but when you cross a bridge and curve left for a short distance it becomes 20 mph during school hours. The problem is after you pass the school, leaving the area, you are going downhill, very difficult to keep the speed down, and you are actually well away from the school property. The Nolanville PD place a car just past the Harker Heights city limits (the road is half HH and half Nolanville, so they can do that). Any car that just passes the school a block down must retain 20 mph, something that is very difficult to do. Many people can be ticketed there.

NPD sits all along this road. It is 25MPH but it’s so easy to go faster as you feel like you are just crawling along. All of my neighbors and my Husband too, have gotten tickets.
