Vidor Texas on interstate 10

Orange, TexasAug 02, 20130 Comments

Motorcycle cop sits at the bottom of a hill and stops cars when going down the incline. the car picks up a couple of miles during the climb which allows the cop to clock you at the highest rate. I was exceeding the speed limit by 5 miles ( which would be ignored by many other officers with more important issues to monitor) and was ticketed at 7 miles over the limit at the bottom of the hill. My advice is to go 5 under the speed limit on Interstate 10 when traveling through Vidor Texas. Also I believe if the cop can tell that you are not a Vidor resident you have a higher probability of getting stopped.

IH 10 – Between Beaumont and Orange, TX (Stateline)

Texas State Trooper in unmarked Light Blue Ford Crown Victoria with blacked out windows heavily patrols this area. Runs front and rear radar. He looks for speeders, improper lane changes, cars following too close to one another, etc. He gave me a warning for one bulb of two being burned out on my license plate lamp.

You will get a ticket and any other charges will be warnings. No Exceptions.

This is mostly west bound in unmarked Dodge cars and trucks. Seem to be looking for drugs but you better not be speeding.

OK I’m not sure the marker is in the right place, but I’ve seen cops many times in the Drive Student Center parking lot.

Bear Path Street near FM 1130

Orange, TexasMay 21, 20080 Comments

After turning on to Bear Path from FM 1130, there is a sign very low to ground 30 mph. An officer sits at the first cross street, pulling cars over constant. This is a rural area and speed limit is extemely slow given the fact that continue down FM 1130 and the school zone limit is higher than this one. Side note: Officer is very polite but does not give warnings.
