Just before the top of the hill coming into Springtown from Azle, the speed drops to 55 from 65. You can't see the officer over the hill, but he will get you. You must be doing 55 by the "Speed Limit 55"" sign."

State Highway 114   Springtown, Texas

They hide about 1/2 to 1 mile east of the one and only stop light as you travel through Springtown, just before you reach the city limit sign. The speed limit is still 40mph even though it is 4 lane open highway as you're leaving town going east and accelerating up to normal posted speed on hwy 114 of 60-65 mph. Just another way to make money for their local city government. It has nothing to do with traffic safety or real law enforcement in my opinion.

Speeding Tickets

Find out why.
