HWY 54 at Main   Stratford, Texas

If you're going South/West late afternoon the sun glare will interfere noting the school zone lights. I was caught at 3:42pm with $198 fine. Be careful.

U. S. 287 and U.S. 54   Stratford, Texas

Proceeding south on 287, I turned into the Shell gas station on my right on 287. Exiting the station I crossed 54 to make a right turn onto 287. There is a curve leading to the expectation of a yield sign. Looking for oncoming traffic on 287 I did not observe that there is actually a stop sign. $133 cost. This is similar to the preceding entry but seems to show that the trap works for any turn at this intersection.

HWY 54 North East of and one block from HWY 287   Stratford, Texas

During school days, there is a school zone of 20 miles per hour on HWY 54 East/West. An officer sits on the west side of HWY 54 by the metal silo north of HWY 287. There is currently construction through the town of Stratford and the bright signs and flashing lights cause the school zone lights to not be as noticeable. In a period of 10 minutes while I received my ticket, there was 3 others issued. Cost $163.00 for 10-19 over.

US Highway 287 near US Highway 54   Stratford, Texas

Traveling on hwy 287.... As you are turning to go east onto hwy 54, as you check for oncoming traffic you will take a curve onto hwy 54. Common sense tells you that you have a yield sign on the curve but at this intersection there is a stop sign. They hand out tickets there every evening.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
