Highway 67   Venus, Texas

I haven't been pulled over because I am well aware of the tricks the Venus police use. I have seen them on the side of the road with their hazards flashing and their trunk lid up to hide the fact that they are a police car. The officer crouches down beside the car and shoots radar at oncoming traffic. I have also seen them do this with the hood raised and the officer is acting like he is working on the engine but he is using his radar gun instead.

FM 157 south at "S" Curve   Venus, Texas

Officer will sit in parking lot of apartment complex (parked in a fire zone) and will shoot radar on traffic on FM 157 both directions. They will also use the radar on road between the schools from the same spot. I beat the ticket in court because the angle is too steep to have a accurate reading if you are on the road between the schools and they are in the apartment complex. Speed limit is 20 MPH on all roads.

FM 157 near County Road 501   Venus, Texas

Southbound when entering Venus, the speed limit changes from 70 mph to 55 mph per the police department, however there is no posted speed limit sign. Fight it in court and you will win.. I have, the court knows this but refuses to have a posted sign installed. Northbound is marked 55 mph when leaving from Hwy 67.

State Highway 67 near FM 157   Venus, Texas

Coming from Alvarado on 67 where the speed is 65, they have removed the 55 miles an hour sign as you approach town. you go from 65 to 50. This will catch many people off guard.

US Highway 157 near city of venus   Venus, Texas

going into Venus on hwy 157 from South to North the speed limit changes from 55 to 45 to 30 to 20 in less than 1/4 mile, the police officer sits in front of the 90 degree left hand curve where 157 turns into 8th street. As you approch the turn you see the police car on the left shoulder
with the 30 mph sign on the right followed by a 20mph sign. If you see the officer and not the 30 mph sign, you will get a ticket for 45 in a 30.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
