Vidor, TX

Not a specific location, just a warning for drivers going through the town:
The city of Vidor ranks fourth in Southeast Texas for revenue gained from municipal fines. Roughly 9% of the city gains revenue from this source, which includes traffic citations.

A man, his bike and his laser
Leading the way in Vidor is a motorcycle cop and the department’s one-man traffic enforcement division. He’s developed a reputation, referencing the motorcycle officer Beaumont residents love to gripe about.
“He frequently crouches behind his bike to steady his aim of a cross-haired laser speed detector that can pick out a single vehicle from a group of cars a half-mile away. Some people complain that he is trying to hide when he crouches behind the motorcycle. That’s not the case – it’s instead about accuracy.
Just because someone says I didn’t see you doesn’t make it a speed trap.”

I was pulled over here.

Map Location: maps:II=&q=30.1305,-93.9203

This map location is where I was stopped so the traps was a mile or two West. I was clocked at 98 MPH in a car that looked like it would not go that fast! 🙂

I didn’t realize that my Escort Live App was not reporting the hits from others… the scouting feature.

motorcycle cop, kneels behind it with radar gun, looking for drivers exceeding 75 mph

Hwy 105 near tracks or Orange st.

Motorcycle cop likes to sit at empty lot. It is more to catch people running red lights and going straight in turn only lanes.

1132 and Hwy. 12

If heading toward 12 from 105, when the speed limit drops from 50 mph to 45 mph, there is a motorcylce cop waiting for those who don’t heed the reduced speed. There have been times I’ve seen him every day with a car pulled over, and that was just at a certain time when I needed to drive through there. No telling how many people he gets if he stays there all day.
