Pleasant Hill, California Speed Traps
Chilpancingo and Quarry
Motorcycle cop sits in the apartments with radar looking west up the street which is downhill.
Alhambra Ave., just north of Rockridge/Blueridge on right.
As you past Chevron at intersection Alhambra Ave. goes up a slight hill, on the down hill side just before Shetland drive, motorcycle cop sits on small concrete pad shooting radar in both directions. Speed limit is 35mph, very easy to exceed if you don’t hit the light or are coming from Martinez where the speed limit is 45. Usually seen mid-morning during the week.
After Soule on Patterson Blvd.
There is a solar generated speed warning that tells you that you’ve exceeded the 25 MPH limit. However, right after the contraption, the road curves toward Hawthorne Drive and slows to 15MPH. Whether you’re travelling North or South, they’ll get you either way cause most people usually drive 35 MPH through there.
Pleasant Hill Road
Southbound Taylor Blvd (55mph) merges with P.H. Rd (35 mph) and proceeds with uphill grade in route to Acalanes High School/Hwy 24. Lafayette police like to sit on the private road on the right with radar, right where you feel like you should accelerate to maintain speed on the uphill grade.
Paso Nogal Street near off Morello Blvd Street
As you head off Morello down Paso Nogal towards DVC College, they sit on the side roads set back so you can’t see them initially and and you are going down or even up in the opposite direction you pick up speed and they got you. They get complaints from neighbors that the college students are speeding but there is no age limit to this game.
