Just north of town past the 50 mph. sign   Wells, Texas

The speed limit increases to 50 mph. just north of town but stays at that rate long past where you would expect it to start climbing. Traffic gets tired of waiting and increases and that is where the cruiser sits and collects its bounty. He sits within sight of the sign that increases the speed to 70 mph. DON"T increase speed until you have passed that sign or you are dead meat. Remember, this is their bread and butter, poor town, no industry..... lots of gullible drivers!!

US Highway 69 near School   Wells, Texas

Wells is one of the most notorious speed traps in all of Texas. They are either moving running radar north and south bound --or stationary--hiding by a drop off on 69 south of town.

Look out!

US Highway 69 S   Wells, Texas

As you travel through the town of Wells on Hwy 69 in Cherokee County the speed limit drops from 70 to 35 at various points in the town. The local cop could be anywhere at anytime day or night. And he does not write warnings. Even one mile over the speed limit is not tolerated.

69 North   Wells, Texas

Officers will sit on the southbound end of town right after the speed limit drops to 40 mph. There is a very dark area past the church on the right that is open but hard to see. I got a ticket Aug. 24th at night for running a stopsign and from where he was sitting there is no way he could see that I had in fact stopped. They are very rude and arrogant in Wells. I have lived here for several years and they are as corrupt as you can find anywhere. Becarful, it does not take you even breaking thew laws here for you to get a ticket or even arrested!

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
