Porter Ranch, California Speed Traps

There is a speed trap on Rinaldi Street between Wilbur Avenue and Reseda Blvd in Porter Ranch, California as the speed limit along Rinaldi Street is 40 mph.

An LAPD motor officer likes to sit in the shade of the tree at the southwest corner, on Chatsworth St. just west of Tampa Ave. He points his Speedgun radar at traffic coming southbound on Tampa Ave. and picks off speeders. I was going 57 mph in a 45 mph zone. He cited me for 55 in a 45 zone. Bail was $212.00 total. Best advice is slow down to 40 mph as soon as you get onto Tampa Ave. He’s not always there, but there’s no way to check until you’ve already been clocked. Good luck.

Exiting off the 118 at Reseda Blvd, heading west (left off freeway) on Rinaldi towards Wilbur Ave. There are always two motorcycle cops w/radar. Be careful.

going up Tampa towards Rinaldi there is ALWAYS a cop on his motorcycle posted behind that half sized brick wall on the right (right before the parking lot to Jack in the Box, after the 118E Tampa Exit) ..be careful!
