Fresno County SO and CHP park in two places: one is across from the Tiny Mart on the Auberry Road side, and the other is on the 168 side. Mainly in SUVs, but occasional FCSO patrol cars also. SUVs are Ford Explorers. Most active on
Weekends in Summer and during Ski Season.
State Highway 168 near Lodge Road
Fresno County SO and CHP are in the Park & Ride at the intersection of 168 and Lodge Road (bottom of the 4-lane).
Usually waiting for kids from Sierra High on school days, and for weekenders in Summer, and skiers during ski season.
Usually only one SUV, but sometimes two.
5 mi E of Prather on SR-168
Fresno County Sherrifs and CHP lurk at the Park and Ride where 168 turns toward Shaver Lake. Their usual targets are kids going to and from nearby Sierra High School and skiers going to/from Sierra Summit in winter, as well as weekenders going to the mts. in summer.
