State Highway 101 near Crazy Horse Road

I personally don’t consider a speed trap by my definition but it an area of road heavily patrolled but it is not designed to entrap anyone but for safety reasons. If you are going south on hwy 101 heading towards salinas Ca and you come to a road going to the left called crazy horse slow down. It generally runs down a couple miles past the hwy 156 exit. This stretch of road is called blood alley due to it’s high rate of accidents and deaths. It is considered one of the most deadly streches in california. They are not out to catch just anyone. I travel the road every day and I keep it at 60 (it is a 55 zone) and have never had any problems myself. This stretch is also been designated a double fine zone so any ticket you get the amount is doubled.

From Martinez Road(just North of Boronda Rd.) to Moro Road(just past San Miguel)four new CHPs were hired to regulate traffic flow in this area alone. They can be found on motorcycles and in cars, and are often sitting out of sight right next to the highway. DOUBLE FINE ZONE!

Both motorcycle and car CHPs constantly on 101 between Boronda Rd and Crazy Horse Cyn. They sit along the frontage roads. Usually at least 3-4 people pulled over AM rush hour, but continues throughout the day. This will be a hot spot for cops since they will be making it a double find zone again.

South bound Hwy 101 about 1/2 mile pass Crazyhorse Rd. CHP motorcycle officers sit there on the side of the road, at and intersection for a frontage road. They use radar guns, most I have see there at a time is 5 officers, the get ya coming down the hill, and clock you before you realize what hit ya !

Town north of Salinas on Highway 101

Yet another US-101 speed trap for you: Prunedale! You aren’t going to believe it: this small town actually put up wooden cutouts of pedestrians, cops, and patrol cars, holding up signs reading "55!" and "It’s 55 in Prunedale"! There’s signs thanking the CHP for their enforcement efforts. Traffic often backs up here trying to make impossible left turns onto city streets, having to cross over several busy highway lanes to do it. There’s also several nasty intersections with people’s homes and driveways right off the highway. This area desperately needs to get a bypass built around it. As you might expect, speed enforcement here is zealous, and they’ve even got it designated a "double fine zone"!
