US 20 (9th Street, Belmont Bridge)
Heading north into town from I-64, Rt 20 makes a right turn off of Monticello onto Avon St. As soon as you turn, there is a sign that states that this is an enhanced enforcement zone with a MINIMUM $200 fine. There is ONLY ONE sign, and it is very easy to miss, is quite high in the air, looks as if it was intentionally placed that way. You will be clocked as you crest the top of the Belmont Bridge (over the RR tracks). You will not be able to see where the city citizen shakedown agent sits until it is too late. They sit in the parking lot (illegal without owner’s permission) of the closed down “Fuel” boutique gas station that closed in 2007. This is at the corner of Water St and Avon, now (called 9th St).
