On one way road going through Dumfries, US 1 north

Dumfries, VirginiaMar 12, 20120 Comments

As you go past the Quantico Base, about 2-3 miles after on US 1 the road splits into one ways. Going north only one way of traffic is allowed, going south there is a one lane going north. On the north bound side, there is no oncoming traffic to alert you in this 35 mph zone. It’s a large road, 2 lanes going north. As you come down the hill to the light at the Bank of America, it begins there at the shopping center on the north side of the intersection. As you go through this section many times, especially during high volume times, there are motorcycle officers with radar guns stopping people by the pairs over and over and over. The stopping and highest concentration of police is in a parking lot on the right just before the last light as the two one ways come back together. I’ve been given a ticket here and have witnessed this happen many, many times.
