Market Street Long Term Construction At I-81 Intersection

Harrisonburg, VirginiaOct 23, 20230 Comments

This is one of those construction speed limit camera scams. They have speed limit 25 signs all the way back on the exit ramps for the interstate, which makes it so you either go the speed limit and risk being tailgated, or you don’t and get a speeding camera ticket. It’s a multi-year project but they don’t have speed limit when flashing signs, even though they came up with the money to add the electronics for the cameras. It’s a Chicago style protection racketeering scandal happening in Harrisonburg. Assistant city manager ignores safety concerns while claiming this fundraiser is for safety.

Heading North on Reservoir Street as you cross I-81

Harrisonburg, VirginiaJul 05, 20121 Comments

The speed limit on Reservoir St, a 4-lane road, is 35mph until you pass Wal-Mart and then there is one sign (frequently blocked by traffic coming out of Wal-Mart) indicating the speed has dropped to 25mph for the stretch of road that goes over the interstate. They catch you speeding as you go downhill after crossing over the interstate when you driving as if it is 35mph. As you proceed and follow the main traffic pattern onto Cantrell Ave., the speed increases to 35 again, but that 4/10 of a mile piece of Cantrell is 25 as if there was a school nearby and there is not.
