On Route 60 just before Scottville Rd

Just before Scottville Rd there is a hill. The median strip is heavily wooded and full of tall weeds. The police hide there just after just below the hill where it dips down. You can’t see them until after its too late.

State Route 60 near Chesterfield Line

Powhatan, VirginiaJul 27, 20080 Comments

The Powhatan Deputies and State Troopers sit in the cut over between the two lanes in either side of the divided highway on Route 60 (Anderson Highway) and run Radar usually into the Weat Bound lanes as most of the traffic is headed west FROM metro Richmond to the bedroom communities in Powhatan and points west. The medians here are heavily wooded and most of the cuts are well hidden until you are on them. You can get by with up to 10 over, but not much more. Powhatan is STILL a rural environment and you will see DEER on the side of the road nearly every night, 10 over is MORE than enough… a deer vs. car can be fatal late night, and there have been deer vs. car accidents in the early mornings as well. You might get a break from the local law enforcement.. but don’t hold your breath with the state.

Huguenot Trail near State Route 288

Powhatan, VirginiaJun 07, 20070 Comments

The trap is located at the corner of Huguenot Trail (Rt. 711) and Huguenot Spings Dr. If you’re headed east on Rt. 711 in Powhatan County, there is a small area on the side of the road as you approach Huguenot Springs Dr. This area is on a curve and concealed by trees on the back side; it’s often very difficult to tell if an officer is sitting there until you’re right on top of him. By the time you can see him, you’re already registering on his radar. The speed limit is 45 mph; this is 10 mph lower than it should be.
