Prince William Parkway on Occoquan River Bridge

Prince William, VirginiaMar 04, 20120 Comments

I have seen cops on both ends of the bridge going over the Occoquan River (this is in outer Manassas, for those of you not in the know), mostly on Saturday nights when I imagine they are looking for drunk drivers (a hobby of PWC Police). Many people drive over 65 in this 55 zone at ease, but know that they sit on both ends of this bridge.

Unmarked white dually pickup parked awkwardly on the side of the side of the road running laser. There is also a cop car usually parked at the house on the corner of Signal Hill Rd and Moore Dr.

Purcell Road and Rocky Brooke Court

Prince William, VirginiaJan 12, 20102 Comments

Police officers often sit on or near Rocky Brooke Court in unmarked vehicles with radar to catch speeders. They only clock the traffic heading towards Route 234. The speed limit is 35 mph on this road, but it is almost impossible to do so unless riding your brake. Even without hitting the gas, if you allow gravity to simply pull you downhill, you will hit 40-45. And believe me, you will not see the police officer until he’s waving you to pull over! When going down Purcell Road towards Route 234, just after passing the stop sign intersecting Kahns Road, make sure you are doing the speed limit, since it is impossible to tell when they are out!

Hoadly Road near long straightaway areas

Usually around morning rush-hour, when heading East or around evening rush-hour, when heading West. There are a couple long stretches, and you’ll see a car or van parked on the side in the distance (near the end of the long stretch. That’s your best warning to slow down.
