State officer waits at intersection where 55 mph limit reduces to 40 mph south of a thickly settled area (between Dorset village and Manchester – near the kitchen factory) $250.00

Officers are seen pretty much daily along this 2 mile strech. Beware.

Sherrifs patrol this town heavily, because they are hired. Rt 30 is a 40 mph zone, which is silly. It should be 50 and everyone knows it. They will be pretty much all over town, it is a better idea to just deal with it. On US 7 they will be pretty much everywhere too, though there is a section by a state park where the limit drops from 50 to 45, and they hang out there. There is also a turnaround right before you cross the county line (north) where they can be often found. It is a large turnaround/parking area and easy to see. Slow down for it.
