State Highway 15 near Nadeau Sandpit/Cement Factory ~1m e/o Johnson Village   Johnson, Vermont

Newly rezoned stretch of VT15 east out of Johnson. Formerly 35mph transitioned to a 50mph at this point. They changed the signs last week without fanfare or warning, to *40 MPH* from the top of the hill coming out of the east side of Johnson village, from the Nadeau sandpit/cement factory and continuing for ~.5 mile stretch of VT15 continuing around the curve. Observed Lamoille County Sheriff's truck (marked, w/lightbar) on north side of road, adjacent to the sandpit property, concealed around a blind curve. PAY ATTENTION! THIS IS NEWLY REZONED TO 40 MPH! LCSD is desperate for money due to a big cut in the police budgets, which seems to be the main factor behind the recent increase (last month/so) of abusive speed enforcement activity. Routine instant-on head-on RADAR, as well as sneaky pacers are being aggressively utilizied all over the county as well. LCSD focuses heaviest enforcement efforts in the AM/PM rush hours and mid-day lunch hours.

Clay Hill Road near School St/College Hill   Johnson, Vermont

Lamoille County Sheriff (usually a slicktop truck/SUV, but with Sheriff markings). They usually sit about midway up the hill on Clay Hill Road, coming out of Johnson Village heading towards the main entrance to Johnson State College. They seem to focus most heavily (that I'm aware) during the lunch hour(s). 30 MPH zone. LCSD vehicle usually sits parked on grass/shoulder on NORTH side of Clay Hill Rd (concealed in a tree-shaded spot no less), about midway between School St and College Hill (main entrance to JSC), apparently they are targeting college students, staff and faculty coming from the college. There are also a couple of gravel shoulder/turnarounds and a village pumphouse along the stretch between School St and College Hill where they possibly also sit sometimes.

State Route VT15 / aka Main Street, Johnson near village + 1 mile coming in and going out   Johnson, Vermont

VT State Police, tho predominately Lamoille County Sheriffs Dept. Heading northeast into Johnson VT15 goes from 50mph to 35mph in farmland, just northeast of Foote Brook Rd & 'Forget me not shop' and drops again to 25 mph just before you cross the bridge heading northeast into town, continuing up the hill out of town is all 25mph. LCSD sometimes sits in the parking lot of the fire department/municipal ofcs just before the bridge. They park on the sidewalk near Johnson Woolen mills, and near the Johnson Spring (by DJs deli) and the large shoulder area coming up the hill out of town, opposite collins hill rd. LCSD utilizes both stationary radar at points mentioned as well as head-on radar, from both marked cruisers as well as an unmarked white Toyota Highlander hybrid with green (non police) plates. LCSD seems to dedicate full time officers to constant back and forth patrols and radar along this stretch of road.
