State Highway 17 near State Route 125 West Addison, Vermont

Here is the deal folks, the posted speed limit over the BRIDGE is 30mph, not 55, not 60, not 65! If you travel at 30-40mph your not going to get stopped unless you have a muffler falling off your car (which is common in the area)or your doing something stupid. Otherwise the roads are 50mph.....if your going 60mph thats one thing, if your passing someone going 75-80 by the West Addison General Store your going to get tagged over and over again!
You may not always see the coppers but they are there and usually hiding operating stationary radar or Laser which can reach out to aprox 1/4-1/2 mile.

just crossing the Champlain Bridge- VT Routes 17East & VT Route 125East West Addison, Vermont

Speed limit is unrealistic, Addison County sheriffs are ruthless to out-of-staters and will write tickets for as little as 3 (yes, 3!!!) mph over the post limit of 40. On Route 125East, there at least 4 place they sit before the speed limit goes to 50mph. One Route 17East, these sheriffs usually sit near the West Addison General store or further down the Lake Shore Road. Expect no trouble from the State Troopers in this area.
